Wow, I’m finally doing a blog… I actually am asked quite often to share my stories, recipes, tips-n-tricks, etc. and have always thought that it would take too much time. In reality, this is the best way for me to have a voice, for anyone who cares to blog along with me (that’s proper wording right?!). So, if you are taking the time to read what I have to say, thanks. I truly hope to keep you interested and entertained, maybe even inspired to try some new things that your health and fitness needs, as that is the focus of this nutrition platform.
Let’s start with a little about me… Hi! I’m Breanne. People call me Breanne, Bre, Breezy, B and a few other nicknames that could take an entire blog alone to explain 😉 I like to ride bikes, practice hot yoga, play with my puppies Luna and Vino, and run our coaching business with the love of my life. Dave Harward (whom I’m beyond luck to be marrying 8-18-18) is the mastermind behind PLAN7 Endurance Coaching. He started it in 2006 and it has grown into a pretty special family of athletes from multiple disciplines and abilities. I truly mean it when I say that our clients are our friends, and we love everyone like family. I’m the nutrition coach. It’s really cool for me to be able to use my Masters in degree in Nutrition and Sport Dietetics to work with my colleagues (even some competitors!) on fueling for optimal performance. I get to help people figure out the best nutrition strategy for them to accomplish their goals. It’s a pretty sweet gig.
Instead of delving into my life story and upbringing, I’ll simply say that I’ve grown up in Utah, I have a lovely family, the cutest fur baby pups and partner anyone could ask for, and my passion for cycling is beyond rationale. I chose a career focused on nutrition for endurance athletes as I was learning to fuel myself while pursuing a professional career on the bike. I was lucky enough to race with the DNA Cycling team from the inaugural year through 2017 and still race as PLAN7DS (Death Squad!) on road and gravel. So many amazing experiences during those years of racing that I like to think have helped me be a better dietitian for athletes, having “walked the walk” or pedal, if you will.
So, that’s enough for this first post. What I mostly want to convey to anyone reading is that I will do my very best to share my experiences and knowledge about food. My goal is to provide information on sport nutrition, but keep it human. Please send me questions, requests, anything you want to learn about. Whether it me about the science behind any foods, fads, fun facts, or anything personal about me… I’m an open book, rather an open blog 🙂
